Differences in behavioural patterns of Swedish people in the state\u00a0of being sober compared to being drunk.\u00a0A non-scientific observation of the Vikings’ descendants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Swedes, before and after a couple of drinks<\/h2>\n

Most Swedes love to have a few drinks\u00a0here and there. Not only to enjoy the taste of the drink but also for the feeling\u00a0of being boozed.\u00a0When they get drunk, they preferably do it on the weekends to avoid a hangover on work days. Smart.<\/p>\n

This is what you\u00a0might experience when you meet the same Swedish person during daytime of a normal workday compared to a Friday\/Saturday evening, after 9\u00a0o’clock:<\/p>

1.<\/p>\n

Sober Swedes<\/strong> walk rather calmly and relaxed through the streets, unrushed.
\nDrunk Swedes<\/strong> walk in a wiggly line, in search for the next convenient place\u00a0to urinate.<\/p>\n

2.<\/p>\n

Sober Swedes<\/strong>\u00a0remain as calm as possible at any time, because they don’t want to get any\u00a0attention or bother others.
\nDrunk Swedes<\/strong> chant and shout with their fellow drunk mates on the way from the\u00a0night club to the after-party, so everyone in the neighbourhood understands these people had a really good time.<\/p>\n

3.<\/p>\n

Sober Swedes<\/strong>\u00a0don’t like to express any opinion on political or social topics\u00a0that potentially could\u00a0be perceived as offending or even create a conflict.
\nDrunk Swedes<\/strong> might express\u00a0a conflicting\u00a0opinion, but start to\u00a0back-pedal right after stating it, by saying “N\u00e4h, men, jag skojar bara<\/em>“, “Well, I was just kidding”.<\/p>\n

4.<\/p>\n

Sober Swedes<\/strong> don’t dance. Mostly because they don’t dare.
\nDrunk Swedes<\/strong> at least try to move rhythmically on the dance floor.<\/p>\n

5.<\/p>\n

Sober Swedes<\/strong> tend\u00a0not to be very talkative.
\nDrunk Swedes<\/strong>\u00a0find it difficult to\u00a0shut their mouth when certain topics arise, like feminism, veganism\u00a0or\u00a0Zlatan (Swedish football player).<\/p>\n

6.<\/p>\n

Sober Swedes<\/strong> wear cloth.
\nDrunk Swedes<\/strong> take any opportunity to remove\u00a0as many layers of textile from their body as fast\u00a0possible.<\/p>\n

So, next time you are in Sweden, not only on a weekday but also during the weekend, you hopefully\u00a0won’t be so\u00a0confused\u00a0by the diversity of the Swedish character in a sober vs drunk state anymore.<\/p>\n
