“How to be Swedish” – Book Release

Finally, after several years of collecting information – from other Sweden-books and websites – and conducting many, many interviews with Swedes as well as non-Swedes about their “Swedish experiences”, my new (well, it’s my first) book is released.

Everyone who wants to learn more about Swedish culture and quirks can buy it as paperback or e-book on Amazon, here.

Title: How to be Swedish – A Quick Guide to Swedishness – in 55 Steps

Why this book?

Well, I lived in Sweden for more than a decade. During this time I have experienced many wonderful but also weird and confusing “typically Swedish situations”. Situations in which I found myself behaving “non-Swedish”. It took me years to adapt to the Swedish culture. And although I maybe haven’t become 100% Swedish (I probably never will),  I believe I have come quite a long way on the path to Swedishness, which I now want to share with you.

Book about Sweden - How to be Swedish

I wrote this book with myself in mind, as if I was talking to the Matthias that just arrived in Sweden back in 2005. Now, it is a guide for all new arrivals in Sweden, travellers, expats, exchange students and migrants who want to get prepared for interactions with Swedes or a life in Sweden.

This guide will help you to avoid pitfalls, understand Swedish culture and find an entertaining perspective on some “Swedish strangeness”.

I hope you’ll enjoy the book! (More about it, here on Amazon.)
